Do You Maintain a Parking Lot? Then Oct. 3 De-Icing Workshop Is For You
We’re tempted to write a clever, attention-grabbing headline like “De-Icing With Death” or “De Best of De Cake Is De-Icing,” but we know (a) that’s not so clever and (b) it might distract from a serious topic and a valuable upcoming workshop.
The truth is, winter maintenance of parking lots and sidewalks can be time-consuming and costly, and improper management of these paved surfaces can negatively impact local waterways.
The Kane County Division of Environmental & Water Resources, in partnership with The Conservation Foundation, is hosting a Parking Lots & Sidewalks Deicing Workshop from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 3, in the Auditorium of Building A at the Kane County Government Center, 719 S. Batavia Ave., Geneva.
Who should attend? Anyone who maintains parking lots for park districts, school districts, libraries, government buildings, multi-family housing or commercial properties.
The workshop cost is $25 per person, which includes breakfast.
