Kane County Seeks Volunteers For July 8 Recycling Extravaganza
Kane County Recycles is seeking volunteers for its annual Recycling Extravaganza on Saturday, July 8.
The county will be recycling electronics, books, paint, batteries, bikes, garden tools, fluorescent tubes, doing free confidential document shredding, and much more.
To say thank you, Kane County Recycles provides refreshments (fruit and coffee in the morning and water all day!) A pizza lunch will be served at the close of the event.
The event runs from 8 a.m. to noon. Volunteers are asked to arrive at 7 a.m. or 7:15 a.m. at the latest to sign in, have a snack, and get to your station. Volunteers start unloading cars at 7:45 a.m., if possible, because they line up early.
“You can expect to stay until around 12:15 p.m., though of course you are free to go when you need to,” Kane County Recycling Coordinator Jennifer Jarland said. “Kids under 17 are welcome to volunteer but must have an adult accompanying them and sign a waiver form.”
“The sooner I know, the better!” Jarland says.
Also consider volunteering for one or more of the upcoming Kane County Recycling Events!
“I especially need people for the July and November events,” Jarland said.
