Independence Day Car and Bike Show Will Help Aurora Veterans

As part of the Independence Day activities in Aurora, the Aurora Veterans Advisory Council will host its inaugural Car and Bike Show from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Friday, July 3, in the city of Aurora parking lot, 309 N. River Street, at River Street and Vine Street in downtown Aurora.

The show is free for the public to attend. There is a $15 entry fee to display a car or motorcycle. Awards for entries include Best in Show Award and People’s Choice Award.

The event will begin at 4:30 p.m. with a presentation from the East Aurora NJROTC and a special performance of the National Anthem by 16-year-old Elizabeth Warner. Throughout the evening, car and bike enthusiasts can enjoy a 50/50 raffle, famous brats from The Wurst Kitchen and music from Carousel Sound.

Proceeds from the Car and Bike Show will benefit AVAC and its work in building the new Veteran’s Memorial at Phillips Park to honor veterans of recent wars. In addition, AVAC is fundraising for its new scholarship fund that will launch through the Community Foundation of the Fox River Valley for students in the Class of 2016.
